Simplicity.

You know. God is so simplistic. Yes, He is a very BIG God. But, we are so busy with our lives, we forget about simplicity.

I was pondering the other day about my chapsticks (Because I have 2 and I lost both). I was driving to work thinking I had to go buy a new one, because my lips were dying for moisture. I get to work, throw on my leather jacket, place my hands in my pockets (ya know, because it’s 37 degrees outside) and behold! Chapstick. I couldn’t help but grin, because all I could think was, “Thank you Jesus”.

It may sound silly, but to me, it means so much. Because I overthink and overanalyze every situation that comes my way. Even when there isn’t anything to analyze. I was thinking about when I should leave just to go buy chapstick, or what if we are busy (then I should wait until after work), or maybe my boss could let me leave for just a second, etc. Overthinking CHAPSTICK.

I know my God speaks, sometimes, in the simplest of ways; and I feel sometimes we miss it — you know, because we have to get that hour of pondering about who-knows-what — trying to control every situation we know shouldn’t be in our hands.

Now, I LOVE to write (as long as it’s not a pressured homework assignment, I could write forever). I wrote a poem the other day and had my mom read it. She said she loved it, followed with, “You should write this down in case something happens to your phone.” Little did I know my phone was going to break 2 days later. . .(today to be precise.)

Boy am I glad I listened!

Jesus speaks. All the time. How? I couldn’t tell you, it’s always different. I mostly hear Him through writing, but He’s mysterious. Had that been Him speaking through my mom to protect my literature? I believe it.

I’ve learned God answers EVERY prayer. No matter how big or how small. Sometimes, He’s answered prayers I thought where too minute to even consider speaking; but he knows the desires of our heart (Prov. 37:4). Right? ❤ Regardless, He’s always been faithful, still is, and will be for eternity. As long as we have Him, there’s no mountain, Goliath, or ant that could stop His plans for us.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
