So, I know some people like to drive down the middle of the road, because it’s safe. Especially at night or in the middle of nowhere. It allows the driver to maneuver easier (say if there were an animal or other objects in the road) either to the right or the left.
And I know sometimes, if the alignment on the vehicle isn’t right or if the road is rough, it’s difficult to keep the vehicle “steady”. I personally love to drive — mostly alone — but, I love the freedom, the awful karaoke, and the beautiful sight-seeing along the way to my destination. It’s an addiction that, (I can’t always afford) always gives me my sense of control back.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.” ~Proverbs 3:5-7 (NKJV)
I know we are all guilty of taking control of situations we know should have been left in the Lord’s hands or need to stay in the Lord’s hands.
Having OCD is something I’ve struggled with all my life, so control is not new — although, it’s old news. And everytime my OCD routine is disturbed, I become consumed with anger.
Why? Because I’ve lost ‘control’ to what I was trying to keep organized. To what I was trying to keep in a box, because it ‘looked’ better to my perception.
So, when something disturbs my routine, my peace is disturbed due to my condition.
When people do something that doesn’t fit in our box or routine, we become irritable, bitter, angry, vengeful, you name it.
Let God be your organizer. Don’t let these “disturbances” shift you right or left. Don’t let them distract you from your destination.
Stay in the middle. Stay on track. Don’t veer off the road. For our God is the Prince of Peace and He knows the plans He has for us.💕💕
